In this week’s message from Andrew Murray’s book, “With Christ in the School of Prayer,” specifically LESSON 31: A LIFE OF PRAYER.
“always rejoice, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances” 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
Jesus emphasized this principle in the parable of the persistent widow, teaching that we should always pray and not lose heart. Her persistence demonstrates the importance of continuing in prayer even when answers seem delayed or when God appears silent.
The apostles echo this teaching throughout the New Testament. Believers are urged to be constant in prayer, to persevere in prayer with thanksgiving, and to pray at all times in the Spirit. These passages point to something deeper than simply praying often—they describe a life where communion with God becomes continuous and natural.
