Greetings,
This week in Restoration & Power of Prayer message, 007 MINISTRY OF THE INNER LIFE, exploring what takes place within us as we spend time alone before the Lord. While secular thought describes the “inner life” as our thoughts, emotions, and imagination, the Christian perspective speaks of the “inner man”—the spiritual part of our being where God works deeply through the Holy Spirit.
Scripture teaches that our bodies are gifts from God and are called to be offered as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1–2). Through salvation in Jesus Christ, our bodies become temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). Our soul is often the place where decisions are made and where the self-life can influence our attitudes and actions.
Yet it is within our spirit that God communes with us and where we are born again (John 3:3–6). As we nurture our inner life with God, the Holy Spirit continues His transforming work, shaping us from the old man into the new man found only in Jesus Christ.
