Thank you for joining this week’s lesson on the Breastplate of Righteousness from Ephesians 6:14. Here’s what we will be covering.
Who You Are in Christ
As believers, we have the Righteousness of Jesus Christ living within us through the power of the Holy Spirit (Philippians 3:9). We are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17) — and more than conquerors through Him (Romans 8:37). Every day, we are called to put on this breastplate by faith.
The Enemy’s Strategy
One of Satan’s most potent weapons is convincing us we are unworthy. This deception affects people from every walk of life and opens the door to continued spiritual attacks. These footholds often begin through derogatory thoughts, unhealed wounds, or hurtful words from others — but they only become destructive when we accept them as truth.
Recognizing the Warning Signs
We discussed red flags that signal the bondage of rejection: persistent fear and anxiety, a critical spirit, difficulty giving or receiving love, perfectionism, bitterness, and addictive behavior. Root causes often trace back to painful experiences — abuse, loss, abandonment, or wounds inflicted by people close to us.
The Path to Freedom
Our own righteousness will never be enough (Isaiah 64:6). But God’s righteousness is a gift given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe (Romans 3:21-26). What is impossible with man is possible with God (Luke 18:27). Freedom from unworthiness is found only in Him.
As you reflect this week, remember: you are worthy — not because of anything you’ve done, but because of who lives within you.
